What we do

At Nas, we walk alongside communities and organisations to design, build, and sustain spaces where equity and collective care can thrive. Our work is rooted in decolonial practices, drawing from lived experience and community knowledge. We focus on processes that are relational, reflective, and oriented toward meaningful and lasting change.

Our services.

  • Programme and Service Design, Reviews, and Evaluation.

We work with organisations to design, review, and strengthen programmes and services from start to finish. Our process centres collaboration, involving communities and staff at every stage, to ensure that what’s created is practical, responsive, and grounded in real needs. We bring experience in both strategic design and hands-on implementation, ensuring outcomes that are effective, equitable, and sustainable.

  • Research.

Our collective leads and supports research that contributes to social equity and community wellbeing.

We design and deliver empirical research using both qualitative and quantitative methods, with strong foundations in Kaupapa Māori and decolonial approaches.

We provide advice and guidance to researchers and organisations on building culturally safe, ethical, and equitable research practices. This can include participation on advisory boards or one-on-one consultation.

We review and evaluate research reports to strengthen cultural integrity, accuracy, and relevance.

  • Facilitation.

We design and facilitate workshops and processes that support learning, reflection, and repair. Our facilitation practice is centred on safety, trust, and collective growth.

Curated workshops tailored to your needs, with a focus on creating inclusive spaces for BIPOC communities.

Mentoring and supporting organisations and young people to design and lead their own workshops and processes.

Facilitating conflict resolution and reconciliation meetings that support honest dialogue and repair.

  • Advisory Support.

We provide strategic and relational support to social impact initiatives, collectives, and organisations seeking to work in more equitable and sustainable ways.

Guidance on structural setup, from charitable and business models to modern alternative approaches, to ensure your organisation’s foundation is fit for purpose.

Support identifying funders and funding pathways that align with your kaupapa and values.

Assistance with programme and project design, including writing and refining funding applications.

Mentoring youth-led and BIPOC-focused initiatives to grow safely and intentionally.

Advisory support for initiatives focused on anti-racism, inclusion, and discrimination, with a focus on building safer and more cohesive environments.

  • Design and Visual Storytelling.

Our design and illustration practice tells stories that connect people, culture, and place. We use visual language to honour community narratives and bring bold, meaningful ideas to life.

Graphic Design: We create publications, reports, books, and posters; brand storytelling; mahi toi iconography; and digital media — across both print and digital formats.

Illustration: Our illustration work ranges from culturally grounded and imaginative pieces to functional icons and visual systems. We also offer live illustration to energise workshops, events, and collective processes.
